Hey, Y’all! I’m Jaimee! As you know, I’m the co-anchor for Good Morning Mississippi on WLOX-tv. I’m also the founder, executive producer, editor and host of MS Congeniality TV. As the former Mrs Mississippi American 2020 and a life-long student of all things beauty, I now help others look their best through my seasonal color analysis draping. I absolutely LOVE my jobs.
None of this would be possible though without the man you see in these photos. Joel Dorris isn’t just my husband, he’s also my best friend, my lover, my business partner, my tango partner, my financial powerhouse and my biggest fan. Joel is the one who encourages me to be myself fully… to life out loud… and to try all of my crazy ideas. He’s the reason I believe so strongly in the importance of finding a good mate too. When we met, both of us were single parents picking up the pieces of our lives post divorce. We pledged to build family together and do it right this time — for our kids and for ourselves. There is no relationship more important than a spouse when it comes to living a life of joy and purpose. With Joel I found true love, and because of that, the rest of this even exists.
Speaking of family.. we have a lot of kids. From oldest to youngest, there’s Kaytlin, Joel Jr, Hayden, Olin and Micah. Then we decided to through a few “fur babies” into the mix for a little more excitement. Our golden doodles Dakota, Alaska, and Cali Girl rule the home and have personalities as distinct as their fancy haircuts.

Jaimee Dorris is a TV personality, creative producer, and storyteller with over 20 years of experience helping people and businesses stand out. She creates authentic, magnetic, and joy-filled content.
She began her career as a news reporter for WLOX-TV, covering Hurricane Katrina, before launching her own web design and marketing studio — Jaimee Designs Web Studio — in 2007. In 2019, she created her own TV show—MS Congeniality TV—a lively talk show that celebrated bold people and ideas across the South. The show aired on WXXV-TV in Gulfport and WGNO-TV in New Orleans. In 2022, she returned to the WLOX-TV anchor desk, infusing Good Morning Mississippi with viral dance videos and a fresh energy that redefined the station’s local image.
Named “Miss Issippi” for the state’s bicentennial in 2017 and crowned Mrs. Mississippi American 2020, Jaimee has spent her career blending creativity, confidence, and fun.
Today, Jaimee focuses on content creation and personal branding, helping clients amplify their voices and show up with brilliance—online and off. She lives on the Mississippi Gulf Coast with her husband, Joel. Together, they have a blended family of five adult children, three businesses, and three beloved fur babies.

Party of the Century Hostess
In 2017 the state of Mississippi celebrated its 200th birthday. And like any good party, the celebration needed a great hostess. The Party Committee asked me to do it. The character “Miss ‘Issippi” came about in 1917 when the original centennial was being planned. We filmed two shows during the party.
